Marilena Bernhardt, originally from Germany and a past TCK of the United States, obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2019, and is currently finishing her Master in Positive Clinical Psychology at the University of Twente (the Netherlands). She moved to the Netherlands to specialize in Positive Psychology, a branch of clinical psychology that focuses on individual strengths to enhance well-being. She has interned in an international rehabilitation clinic in Thailand in 2018, where she worked with clients from various cultural and religious backgrounds. There, she also started a project that investigated the impact of mindfulness meditation on emotion management. Marilena has practiced meditation and yoga for many years and deepened her experience during her travels through South-East Asia in a Vietnamese monastery.
