Lorena Flores, MSc, EKC Staff Psychologist. Lorena is originally from Chile and works with both English and Spanish-speaking clients. Lorena studied at a British school in Chile, where she had the opportunity to also study abroad in New Zealand. There, she discovered her passion for other cultures. She also spent time working at a school in Brazil as well as in international schools in both Chile and The Netherlands. Lorena has a lot of experience navigating school contexts as well as in working with children and adolescents from different backgrounds.

Lorena arrived in The Netherlands in 2021 to complete her master’s in Child and Adolescent Psychology at Leiden University. During this time, she also worked alongside the middle school counseling team at the American School of The Hague, supporting students on relevant emotional topics such as anxiety, confidence, and self-esteem.

Lorena works with clients using an integrative approach, adapted to the specific needs of the child and the family. This means that, taking into account their preferences, Lorena uses tools from cognitive behavioral and solution-focused therapy in order to discover a client’s strengths, which she then helps them use to face their current challenges.
