Gabrielle Gane, MSc., EKC Staff Junior Psychologist & Creative Coordinator
Gabrielle certainly is no stranger to the expatriate life! Gabrielle is half-British half-Filipina, was born in Hong Kong, and has lived and studied in five different countries throughout her entire upbringing (Hong Kong, Australia, Singapore, the Philippines, and now the Netherlands). In 2017, she moved to the Netherlands to complete her BSc in Psychology at Leiden University and in 2022 completed her MSc in Child and Adolescent Psychology at Utrecht University. Due to the wide array of cultures and communities she has experienced from a young age, Gabrielle deeply understands both the benefits and challenges of being a Third-Culture Kid.
As a psychologist, Gabrielle works in an integrative way with different approaches adapted to the clients’ needs, such as cognitive behavioural, therapeutic art, and compassion-based approaches. Gabrielle believes that every child and family is unique and so they should also be understood and supported in holistic ways that are tailored to them, not just their experiences.
Gabrielle believes that by providing a safe, accepting, and creative space for children and adolescents, she can help encourage them to rediscover their own strengths and turn scary life transitions into opportunities for growth, empowerment, self-expression, and fun.
