Deniz Keskinel, is completing her Master of Science degree in Child and Adolescent Psychology at Leiden University. She graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from McGill University (Canada). She then worked for two years as a Lab Manager at a mental health institute, looking into the impact of sleep on adolescents’ daily lives, and as a Clinical Research Coordinator in a research institute, looking at the empowerment of families who are waiting to access services for their child with developmental delays. In 2019, she moved to the Netherlands for her studies in order to gain more experience in clinical work with children and adolescents.

Deniz grew up in Istanbul, and moved to Montreal, where she lived for 6 years. She was part of a large international community there, where she also gained insight into the added challenges that expat families face, in her work as a researcher. Having moved across continents again, Deniz has experienced the excitement and difficulties of relocating and having to learn the ways of a whole new culture. She is very excited to gain more experience in ways of supporting expat children and adolescents, and hopes to bring in her own personal and work experiences into the EKC family!
