Kim

Kim Vassallo, MSc., EKC Staff Psychologist

While Kim was born and raised in Italy, she grew up in an international environment with British and Belgian parents, as well as friends from across the world. Kim later moved to the UK to pursue her studies.

She holds a master’s degree in Clinical Applications in Psychology from the University of Warwick and a master’s degree in Eating Disorders and Clinical Nutrition from UCL. While in the UK, Kim worked as an Assistant Psychologist in Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services and Social Care. Here, she supported young people and their families from many different backgrounds and cultures through individual sessions and workshops.

Kim moved to The Netherlands in 2019 where she completed further training in Coaching & Counselling. During this time she started working with young adults and expats as a well-being & personal development coach.

As a psychologist, Kim works in an integrative way that draws on different approaches, including cognitive behavioural therapy, positive psychology, and mindfulness. She believes that every person and family is unique and that the support they receive should reflect this. This means that Kim always tries to tailor her approach to their individual needs, preferences, and goals. Also, rather than reducing a person to their problem, Kim takes a holistic approach that sees the whole person in the context of their whole life.

As an expat and Adult Third-Culture Kid, Kim understands the challenges that can come with an intercultural upbringing and moving to different countries. She is passionate about supporting and empowering people so that they can turn these transitions and experiences into opportunities for self-exploration and growth.
